ALUMINUM ALLOY

535 (Almag 35)

Almag 35, also known as aluminum alloy 535, is a high-strength aluminum-magnesium alloy that does not require heat treatment. Almag 35 is suitable for a broad range of industries and manufacturing, including instrumentation and marine aluminum sand casting applications, because of its strong corrosion resistance, machinability, and dimensional stability.

Superior’s sophisticated equipment and experience in pouring aluminum alloys result in outstanding castings for our customers. Superior Aluminum Castings specializes in casting nonferrous metals and metal alloys, such as the 535 alloy. We handle casting tasks ranging in size from a single piece to thousands of parts weighing less than an ounce to more than 250 pounds.

535 is an aluminum alloy consisting of 0.15% silicon, 0.003 to 0.007% beryllium, 0.5% iron, 0.15% copper, 6.5 to 7.5% magnesium, 0.25% titanium, 0.15% zinc, 0.35% manganese, and less than 0.005% boron.
